Did you know that 89% of consumers want to see more videos from businesses? And that 52% of people prefer to share a video rather than another form of content? Video is therefore a must-have if you take your business seriously. Especially if you're in the flourishing and growing tourism sector in Southern Spain. Video isn't just the future; it's already incredibly important now. All developments in AI make this only more so. So, are you still wondering whether or not you should create (or have created) video? I'll show you why you're going to score more customers with video.
Reason 1: Video Taps Into Emotions
During my Neuromarketing course at Laudius, I learned that capturing your target audience's attention sometimes seems like a mission impossible. Because with countless stimuli we receive in a day, people can't help but forget much after a few seconds. It's different with images that evoke emotions and manage to activate the pleasure center in your brain. You remember those many times better. Moreover, people don't make decisions, such as booking a vacation or purchasing a house, entirely rationally. No, 95% of choices are made unconsciously and thus driven by emotions. So it's important to tap into emotions.
But how do you tap into those emotions?
By letting them experience it, without them actually being there. And you do that through video. With a good video, you trigger emotions. They see the video and briefly imagine being there themselves. That they're jumping into your pool, living in Andalusia and enjoying a delicious cup of coffee in the morning on their own terrace overlooking the sea. Or that they're taking that cool canoe trip. And that leaves them wanting more. A video perfectly captures the experience your target audience wants to have. The result: more bookings.
Look at these videos as an example. In the first video, you already get completely excited about a vacation in Alcaucín. Nice breakfast, exploring the area by bike, walking through the village, and then splashing nicely in the water. To end the day well with a lovely glass of wine and a sunset. As a viewer, don't you want to be there now?
For Meat Dennis, we were allowed to capture the BBQ experience. Who doesn't love a cozy barbecue afternoon? Meat Dennis gives workshops, provides catering, and also has a shop where you can buy all products. This video is specifically aimed at the workshops, to give the viewer a feeling of how fun such a workshop is. And to emphasize that others also recommend this workshop, reviews are also incorporated. Why? Because social proof works and doesn't just need to be shown on your website and Google. It looks credible especially in a video.
Reason 2: It's Important for Your Findability
The marketing landscape is changing. You notice it yourself: you no longer search only through Google, but also through YouTube, Facebook, AI, and other channels. The young generation even books entire trips through TikTok. The old searching is over. But also the old being found. Where you used to get to number 1 positions in Google by making your pages SEO-proof, it now works differently:
You must provide relevant, valuable information that no one else has
You must be an authority
Your website must be well-structured and visitors must want to stay on it for a long time
You appear in AI overviews partly with video. Google indicates that they get their information from their own platforms, including YouTube. In addition to well-edited videos, it's also good to regularly make vertical videos for platforms like Instagram and TikTok. But also by going live occasionally for direct engagement.
But it's also good for your visibility on social media. The video we made for Boutique B&B El Refugio got thousands of views on Facebook. And the counter is still running…
Alternate with your reels. Professionally made reels with also reels shot with the phone. It shows that you're a serious party, but also just human. That you occasionally have a shocking image. That you sometimes make a blunder. But also that you share the coolest tips. That you offer inspiration. In short: that your target audience should come to you.
Reason 3: You Differentiate Yourself from the Competition
When you do what you always did, you also get what you always got. Your competitors aren't sitting still. So you certainly shouldn't either. Make sure you stand out among the murderous supply. Show why your target audience can best come to you. Video helps you with this, you stand out. It makes your business more human. The target audience gets a lasting bond with you. And to go back to the technical level: videos increase the time visitors spend on your site. That's good for SEO (GEO - Generative Engine Optimization - AI and SEO together). Videos appear more often in search results, making your business stand out and your competitor's not.

What Does Video Mean for Your Business?
No video? That's no longer an option. Yes, DIY videos are fine, but do you really want to come across professionally? Then these videos no longer meet consumer expectations. Quality now stands above quantity in an abundance of content. Make sure you stand out. Make sure your business shines.
